The battle has begun. MPs are defecting, S&P is threatening another round of downgrades and according to one source, there may be a hundred thousand people or so on the streets of Athens. There’s still no word on an outcome, but with “tens of thousands” outside the parliaments facing off against an is estimated 6000 police, the air is thick with gasoline smoke and tear gas. On the line are billions of dollars in cuts, thousands of jobs and the very direction of the world’s economy.
